How does the Tenda work?

Regenerative, Re-deployable, and Restful.

The Tenda produces more energy and water than it requires and manages its waste in a sustainable manner. It can be easily deconstructed and shifted from locale to locale, and scaled up to fit a multiplicity of programmes. The Tenda provides a space for travellers to consider new ways of thinking, creating and living on this finite planet through immersion in local landscape and communities. This type of travel represents an attitude towards community-building while in harmony with nature, where the grouping and configuration of cabins work to create communal spaces that are just as important as the architecture of each individual cabin.

Regenerative

  • Solar

Tenda is able to produce an average 24kW of electricity a day (1.5 day consumption). It requires a daily average of 15kW to function.

  • Water

    Water

Water is conserved through rainwater collection where surface runoff from the roof is kept in a storage tank, filtered, treated and fed back for use in the cabin.

  • Waste

    Waste

Tenda deploys a treatment system consisting of a septic tank and a drainfield, or it can have a compostable toilet. These technologies allow for clean water to be returned to the local aquifer.
